SOUR CREAM KOLACKY | |
1 cake compressed or 1 pkg. dry yeast 4 tbsp. sour cream 2 c. flour, sifted 1 egg yolk 1/2 lb. salted butter Confectioner's sugar Prune, apricot, or cheese filling (Solo preferred) Have all ingredients at room temperature. Soften yeast in sour cream. Add egg yolk and stir. Work butter and flour like you would pie dough until crumbly. Then add sour cream mixture and mix well. Place dough on floured cloth and roll with hands until you get a ball. Divide in half. Roll each portion to thickness you like. Cut into rounds with 2-inch cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Make a dent in each round and place 1 teaspoon prune, apricot, or cheese filling in each. (I use SOLO filling.) Bake 10 minutes at 425 degrees. Sprinkle with XXXXX sugar when cool. |
