GREEK POWDERED SUGAR COOKIES 
1 lb. unsalted butter (4 sticks)
1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 egg yolks
1/3 c. Ouzo (Masticha)
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. baked, chopped almonds
3 1/2 c. flour

First boil almonds until skins puffy. Remove skins. Then chop. Bake them for 5 minutes until brown. Let cool.

Mix butter and sugar for 5 minutes, add egg yolks and beat for another 5 to 10 minutes. Then add 1/3 cup of Ouzo to sugar and butter mixture while still mixing.

While that is mixing, mix flour and baking soda in a large bowl. Stop mixer and add nuts. Mix. Add sugar and butter to flour and mix. Knead with hands. (You may need to add another 1/2 cup flour!) Ready to shape cookies. Cook for 1/2 hour at 350 degrees. Makes about 4 dozen.
