DUGGINS BEAN SOUP MIXTURE 
Mix in equal portions:

Speckled beans
Large Great Northern navy beans
Small white navy beans
Black "Chino" beans
Pinto beans
New Orleans red kidney beans
Garbanzo beans
Field peas
Lentils
Blackeyed peas
Barley
Yellow & green split peas
Baby Fordhook lima beans
Italian "Fave" beans (not dried)
Large white butterbeans

Or whatever available.

For 4 to 6 servings, wash 1 1/2 to 2 cups bean mixture, cover with water, add 1 tablespoon salt and soak 3 hours or overnight.

Put beans in 2 quarts water, add ham bone and 1 pound ham pieces. Let boil 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Add 1 can Ro-tel tomatoes, 1 whole large onion, 1 clove garlic, juice of 1 lemon, 1 long pod green or red pepper (optional), salt and pepper. Optional 1 to 2 pounds fresh shrimp or chicken. Cook 30 minutes.
