BUTTERNUT POUND CAKE 
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. cake flour
1 c. milk
3 tbsp. butternut flavoring

Cream sugar, shortening for 10 minutes. Add eggs, beat slow 1 minute. Add 1 cup flour, beat well. Add remaining flour and milk, beat until creamy. Add flavoring. Use tube pan. Bake 1 hour at 325 degrees. Increase heat to 350 degrees. Bake 10 to 20 minutes longer.

FILLING:

1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
1 stick butter
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. butter nut flavoring
1 c. chopped nuts

Have ingredients room temperature. Mix well. Spread on cooled cake.
