VIRGINIA'S OVEN CARAMEL CORN 
8 to 9 qts. popped corn
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. white corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Boil all ingredients except corn and soda together for 5 minutes, mixing well and stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; add soda. Stir in quickly. It will bubble up. Pour over corn and mix well. Put into 2 large flat pans and bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour, stirring 2 or 3 times. Store in tightly closed container.
