CHERRY NUT BREAD 
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. chopped nuts (opt.)
1 egg, well beaten
1 c. juice from cherries & water
4 tbsp. vegetable oil
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (8 oz.) jar cherries, halved

Mix and sift dry ingredients into a bowl. Add nuts and cherries. Make a hollow and add egg and juice. Stir quickly and evenly with as few strokes as possible. Add oil, stirring only to mix. Turn into a lightly greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
