REFRIGERATED BREAD AND BUTTER
PICKLES
 
1 gallon sliced cucumbers
4 c. sugar
4 c. white vinegar
1/2 c. canning salt
1 1/2 tsp. mustard seed
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
1 tsp. powdered alum

Mix and stir until dissolved first 7 ingredients. Slice an onion in rings. Place at bottom of jar, then add cucumbers. Place in refrigerator. Can start eating pickles when they change color. Stir occasionally. Can add more cucumbers as you eat out. Keeps 1 year.
