BASIC YELLOW CAKE #2 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar, scant
3 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk

Cream butter, add sugar and eggs and blend well. Sift flour and baking powder and slowly add to butter mixture alternating with the milk. Beat on medium to high speed with electric hand mixer for 5 minutes. Pour into 2 (9 inch) greased and floured pans, or 9 x 12 x 2 inch baking pan, or will make 24 to 30 cup cakes. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool and frost with favorite frosting.
