BASIC YELLOW CAKE LAYERS | |
1 c. or 2 sticks butter 2 c. sugar 4 egg yolks 1 tsp. vanilla 3 c. plain flour 1/4 tsp. salt 3 tsp. baking powder 1 c. milk 4 stiffly beaten egg whites Thoroughly cream butter and sugar; add egg yolks and vanilla and beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk. Fold in egg whites. Pour into 3 waxed paper lined 8" or 9" round layer cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. |
