CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
2 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. lard or shortening
4 eggs
4 tbsp. hot water
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. salt
5 c. flour
3/4 c. chopped nuts
1 lg. bag chocolate chips

Cream sugar, shortening and eggs. Mix hot water and soda and add to egg mixture. Mix in flour, salt and vanilla. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
