LOIS' INDIANA CHOCOLATE CHIP
COOKIES
 
1 c. shortening
3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 tsp. hot water
1 1/2 c. flour
2 c. oatmeal
1 pkg. chocolate chips

Cream together shortening, sugars, and eggs. Add vanilla and soda in hot water. Mix well. Add flour, oatmeal, and chocolate chips. Mix well. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
