1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. solid Crisco
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. hot water
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. quick oatmeal
1 c. chocolate chips

Cream together butter, Crisco and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Combine soda and water; add to dough. Add dry ingredients and vanilla; mix well. Add oatmeal and chocolate chips. Mix well. Drop on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes.
