CHERRY CONFETTI CAKE 
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
4 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. almond flavoring
4 eggs
1 c. milk
1/2 c. almonds
1 c. maraschino cherries

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Cream shortening and sugar. Blend in almond flavoring and eggs, one at a time. Add milk alternately with flour mixture. Blend well then add almonds and cherries. Cook on large tube pan well greased and lightly floured. Cut through the batter with a knife to break the air bubbles. Bake at 350 degrees for 60 to 65 minutes.

This recipe was made by my mom. She would smear the top of the cake with butter and then sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top. Delicious!!!
