FRIED PIES 
2 c. self-rising flour
1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. milk

Cut shortening into flour with fork. Then add milk. Add flour until dough is manageable. Either could take flour or milk. Roll out dough. Pull off piece of dough, size of an egg, roll to size of pie. Put 1-2 spoonfuls onto dough. Fold dough over. Keep edge straight for edge of pie. Use fork on edge of pastry. Put shortening in pan. Get hot, put pies in, then fry on both sides.
