PASTRY FOR FRIED PIES 
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
3 tbsp. shortening
Water to moisten

Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder. Cut in shortening. Moisten dough with enough water to give dough the right consistency for rolling. Roll out dough on lightly floured board and cut into saucer-size circles. Yields: 5 individual pie shells.
