TURKEY, SAUSAGE, APPLE STUFFING 
1 (12-14 lb.) turkey
1 tsp. salt for turkey
1 lb. sausage meat
1 c. minced onion
1 c. chopped celery
2 c. pared, cored, diced apples
2 qt. soft bread crumbs
1 tsp. salt for stuffing
1/4 tsp. sage
Cooking fat or oil

If turkey is frozen, thaw completely. Rub salt in neck and body cavity.

STUFFING: Break sausage into small pieces and fry in large skillet over moderate heat about 10 minutes. Add onion and celery and cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Add apples, bread crumbs, salt and age; continue cooking until bread is browned. Stuff turkey loosely and sew or skewer neck and body cavity.

Rub skin with fat or oil. Place in oven. Roast at 320 degrees uncovered 4 to 4 1/2 hours, basting occasionally. Makes 10-12 servings.
