CRANBERRY NUT BREAD 
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. orange juice
1 tbsp. grated orange rinds
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. pecans
1 c. whole fresh cranberries

Combine dry ingredients, then cut in shortening to look like cornmeal. Combine orange juice, orange rinds, egg and add dry ingredients. Mix to just dampen. Add nuts and cranberries. Bake in greased loaf pan. 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes.
