CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH CREAM CHEESE
FILLING
 
1 fudge cake mix
2 tbsp. butter
8 oz. cream cheese
1/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, cheese, sugar, and cornstarch. Add egg, milk, and vanilla. In separate bowl, make cake mix according to directions and spread half in greased and floured 9 x 12 inch pan. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over batter. Cover with other half of cake batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes until cake springs back when touched. Cool. Frost with chocolate frosting.

Frosting: 1/4 cup milk and 1/4 cup butter; heat in small saucepan. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat; add 1 cup real chocolate chips. Stir to melt. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar. If necessary, thin with milk.
