FRIENDSHIP CORN BREAD 
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 1/2 c. white or yellow cornmeal
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs, well beaten
1 1/2 c. milk
1 c. Friendship Starter
1/2 stick (1/4 c.) butter, melted

Spread oil in a 10" oven proof iron skillet or use a little more to grease 2 (8") round cake pans.

In large mixing bowl, thoroughly combine cornmeal, salt and baking soda. Combine eggs, milk, starter and melted butter. Pour into dry ingredients and mix with a spoon until well blended. Pour into prepared skillet and set aside for 30 to 45 minutes.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Bake about 25 to 30 minutes or until done and nicely browned. Serve hot as soon as possible after baking. 12 servings.
