Candy Cookies or Haystacks

 Jennifer says:
I've made these twice because they're so fast and easy. They are tasty but stay pretty sticky - we store them in the freezer. I find 1/2 c of sugar to be plenty, though!

 Bob T. (Texas) says:
The haystack candy cookies come out a little sticky and melt in the hand. This can be corrected by adding about a table spoon of paraffin into the heating process to form a glaze, very much like the finish of commercial boxed candies. Paraffin is edible and that is what boxed candies are made with. Go look up Martha Washington candy.

Do not put on greased table, or it will crumble bad! use wax paper and they will come right off with no problem..Just turn wax over and gently remove cookies!
