PORTUGUESE SOUP 
6 cups chicken broth
1 lb. smoked Kielbasa sausage, diced
1 lb. potatoes, peeled and diced
1 (5-1/2 oz.) can kidney beans, drained
1 (14-1/2 oz.) can diced tomatoes or fresh
1/2 medium head green cabbage, coarsely chopped
1 large carrot, diced
1/2 green bell pepper, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced

Combine all ingredients in large pot. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat and simmer until thick, stirring occasionally, about 2 hours. Season with pepper. No call for salt.
