BUTTERMILK WAFFLES 
3 egg whites
3 egg yolks
2 c. buttermilk
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. salad oil or melted shortening

Beat egg whites until stiff. Set aside. Beat egg yolks and buttermilk well. Sift together flour, salt, soda and baking powder. Add to egg and buttermilk mixture. Beat in oil or shortening. Gently fold in stiff egg whites. (Batter will not be smooth.) Bake in hot waffle iron.
