APPLE PIE | |
Basic Pie Crust: 2 c. flour 1/4 c. Crisco 1/2 c. soft butter 1/4 tsp. salt Mix with pastry blender; add 5 to 7 (or more) tablespoons cold water; mix with fork, then with hand to form a ball; makes 2 plus crusts. 5 to 6 peeled and sliced apples 1 1/2 c. sugar 3 tbsp. flour 1 tsp. cinnamon Mix and pour into pie crust; dot apples with small bits of butter; put water on rim of bottom crust; lay slitted crust on apples; press down edges; sprinkle milk and sugar on top. Bake at 400 degrees for 1/2 hour then 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until crust is brown and juice is bubbling. |
