WEST VIRGINIA CORN PONE 
This is our mother's recipe from Pocahontas County, WV.

4 cups cornmeal
4 cups warm water
1 cup sugar

Mix and allow to set covered in a warm place overnight.

Add:

1 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup buttermilk
2 beaten eggs

Pour into hot Bundt pan to which oil has been added. Bake at 400°F for 1 1/2 hours. After baking, cover with foil to keep moist.
