CALIFORNIA SALAD 
1 head lettuce, chopped
1 c. diced celery
4 hard boiled eggs
1 pkg. frozen peas, uncooked
8 green onions, sliced
8 slices bacon, fried crisp & crumbled

Layer in glass pyrex baking dish (9 x 13 inch) or tupperware. (Do not use metal pan!) Mix 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 cups mayonnaise. Spread this mixture on salad, be sure to "seal" at edges of dish. Sprinkle 4 ounce grated Cheddar cheese over topping and refrigerate overnight.
