1 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1 heaping tbsp. Crisco
Pinch of salt
2 tbsp. hot coffee
1 egg
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 heaping c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix together the sugar, cocoa, salt and coffee (the coffee must be very hot). Add the egg to this mixture. Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Add to mixture. Finally add the flour and vanilla; mix well. Pour into greased 9"x12" pan and bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Do not over cook. Serve warm with ice cream.
