FIRESIDE CASSEROLE 
8 oz. egg noodles
2 lbs. ground beef
Salt, to taste
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
8 oz. cottage cheese
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
1/2 c. sour cream
1/3 c. green pepper, chopped
1/3 c. green onion, chopped
1/2 c. Parmesan or Cheddar cheese, freshly grated

Cook and drain noodles according to package directions. Toss with a little oil if not used right away. Brown meat, drain off fat, add salt and or garlic powder to taste. Add tomato sauce and mix well. Combine cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, green pepper and green onion. Lightly grease one 3 quart casserole dish. Layer as follows: half noodles, cheese mixture, remaining noodles, and then top with meat and tomato mixture. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan or Cheddar cheese if desired. Cover and bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Uncover for the last 5 minutes. (This freezes well.)
