SARAH'S BEST HOMEMADE HOT
CHOCOLATE

1 tbsp. cocoa powder
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. water
1 c. milk
a bit of vanilla, if desired

Combine cocoa, sugar, and water in a small saucepan. Heat it on low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent the paste from sticking to the pan. After about 1 to 2 minutes, add milk and vanilla. Mix it all together until it reaches your preferred temperature.

This is the best hot chocolate that I have had in a very long time. It was smooth and just enough chocolate. I was forced to adjust the amounts. (I filled a 1/2 gallon thermos jug with this great beverage and just sat outside watching my kids play.)

Great recipe. I love hot chocolate and most people think the stuff in the little envelope with hard marsh mellows and hot water is good. They haven't tried this.

It was really really good and very quick and easy. Although I did add a touch more sugar, about half a tablespoon.

This was the best homemade hot chocolate ever. It was so easy and it is great with vanilla and cinnamon. P.S I thought it tasted a bit better with a bit more water.

First of all, the recipe is not the same as the cocoa box, and mine didn't form a paste as I cooked it. At the end, it was not chocolatey enough, but too milky tasting. So, as the box stated, I added more cocoa and some Nestle syrup and it was pretty good. Are you sure you didn't mean 2 tbsp. Cocoa? The only difference between this and the box is the cocoa amount (2 tbsp.), salt and no water.

Me and my friends didn't have hot cocoa mix so we went online and found this recipe. We mixed it up a little by adding 2/3 of the amount given as regular cocoa and 1/3 of it as dark cocoa. We didn't have enough milk so we added two cups of extra water (we were tripling the recipe). We could not wait to try it, when we did it tasted amazing!
