BROWNIE PUDDING 
1 c. sifted enriched flour
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. granulated sugar
2 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. melted shortening
3/4 to 1 c. chopped California walnuts
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1 3/4 c. hot water

Sift together flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, 2 tbsp. cocoa and salt. Add milk, vanilla and shortening; mix until smooth. Add nuts. Pour into greased 8x8x2 inch pan.

Mix brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa, sprinkle over entire batter. Pour hot water over entire batter. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 40-45 minutes.
