BARBECUED BURGERS 
1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. salt
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
6 thin slices onion
1 tbsp. pure vegetable oil
1/2 lemon, thinly sliced
1/4 c. finely chopped celery
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Combine beef, egg, salt, pepper and 1/2 can tomato sauce. Form into 6 patties. Press an onion slice into top of each patty. Heat oil and brown onion side of patties. Pour off excess fat. Turn patties, add lemon, celery, and seasonings. Pour on remaining 1 1/2 cans tomato sauce. Simmer, covered, 15 minutes or until done (baste occasionally). 6 servings.
