Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Walnut Cookies

These cookies are spectacular. I recommend putting the dough in rolls of wax paper and chilling for two hours before forming the dough into round balls of uniform size. This keeps the cookies high, uniform and thick. These are a huge hit.

This has become my signature cookie! I get requests for it all the time and it is always a hit. The recipe does make quite a large batch of cookies, what would be a double batch with other recipes, so if I am making them just for me I often make just half the recipe and it still works out great. I would not suggest freezing the recipe to bake later, the cookies don't puff up and get all crunchy/chewy like they should but stay small and hard when you do. I often skip the chilling part of the recipe and haven't really noticed a difference in the end result. I recommend this recipe to any cookie fan!
