GERMAN APPLE CAKE | |
2 lg. eggs 1 c. oil 2 c. sugar 2 c. flour 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 4 c. chopped apples (for extra moist cake, you can substitute 4 c. applesauce) 1 c. chopped nuts (optional) Beat eggs and oil until foamy. Add sugar, flour, cinnamon, vanilla, soda and salt. Mix well. Stir in apples and nuts, if desired. Pour into a greased and floured 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes. CREAM CHEESE FROSTING: 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 3 tbsp. melted butter 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar 1 tsp. vanilla Beat all ingredients until smooth. |
