3 squares chocolate (can substitute 9 tbsp. cocoa + 3 tbsp. butter)
1/2 c. Crisco
5/8 c. buttermilk (1/2 c. + 2 tbsp.)
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar

Mix everything and beat 2 minutes. Then add 1 teaspoon baking soda mixed with 1 cup boiling water. Bake in greased and floured long pan at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
