BROCCOLI CHOWDER 
1 1/2 c. chicken broth
1 lb. broccoli, cut to bite size
3 c. milk
1 c. ham, cooked and cubed
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/2 c. half & half (or milk)
2 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 c. shredded Swiss or mild Cheddar cheese

Bring broth to boil in 3 quart saucepan. Add broccoli and cook 5 minutes. Use slotted spoon. Remove broccoli. Add milk, ham, pepper (salt, if desired). Bring to boil. Add half & half, butter, and broccoli. Heat to simmer. Top each serving with shredded cheese. Serves 6.
