2 c. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
pinch of salt
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. pecans

In large 6 quart boiler, mix sugar, buttermilk, soda and salt. Cook over High heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Turn heat to Medium and add butter and pecans. Cook, stirring occasionally until mixture forms soft ball in cold water. Drop onto wax paper.
