"OLD" KUCHEN 
1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 stick butter, softened
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. milk

TOPPING:

3 c. sliced fresh fruit
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 tbsp. melted butter

Plums, peaches, nectarines, muskidines (seeds removed), pears - any fruit.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Grease 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan; set aside.

Prepare cake batter by combining flour and sugar in large mixing bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in egg and milk just until blended. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan

FOR TOPPING: Arrange sliced fruit in rows over batter. Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over fruit. Drizzle with melted butter.
