MOLASSES OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. molasses
1 egg
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. each cloves, ginger, cinnamon
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. oatmeal

Cream shortening and sugar, add molasses and egg, blend well. Add dry ingredients. Mix well. Roll in small balls, dip in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on greased pan. Bake for 12-15 minutes in oven at 350 degrees.
