APPLE BUTTER | |
2 to 3 qts. applesauce Oil of cinnamon Slow cooker Sugar Cook down peeled, fresh apples to make applesauce (enough to fill cooker). Cook down for 6 hours or more; keep adding applesauce until you have enough to make the desired batch of apple butter. Cook down until desired consistency is reached (about like soft spread softened butter). Two hours before done, add sugar to taste and oil of cinnamon, 1 drop at a time, to taste. When cooked down sufficiently, pack in hot sterilized jars. |
