BISCUITS | |
2 c. flour (rounded) 2 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. baking powder (rounded) 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 2 tbsp. oil 1 1/2 c. buttermilk (you may need to add a little more of this -- dough should be sticky) Mix first 4 ingredients together. Mix last 3 ingredients together. Then mix both together. Dough should be sticky so add more buttermilk if necessary. Roll out on floured board and cut into biscuits. Put about 1/4 cup oil in bottom of 9 x 12 inch pan. Turn biscuits over in oil as you line pan. Bake at 400 degrees until golden brown. Too much oil will cause biscuits to be crusty, too little oil will cause biscuits to be tough. |
