CHINESE PEPPER STEAK 
1 1/2 lb. round steak
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 1/2 c. green peppers, sliced lengthwise
1 c. beef bouillon (2 cubes in boiling water)
1 can (6 oz.) water chestnuts
4 green onions
Hot cooked rice
2 c. sliced onion
1/2 c. soy sauce
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 c. cold water
2 tbsp. cornstarch

Cut steak in 1/8 inch thick slices. Heat oil in large skillet. Add garlic and pepper. Saute until garlic is golden brown and add steak. Brown lightly (about 2 minutes). Add green pepper and onions. Cook about 3 minutes. Add soy sauce, sugar, bouillon, water chestnuts, cornstarch (dissolve in cold water), green onions and simmer about 2 minutes or until sauce thickens. Serve over rice.
