1 c. butter
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/4 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. Mix well. Add remaining ingredients. Use 1 cup additional flour to roll out dough. Bake at 350 degrees. Sprinkle with sugar while cookies are warm.
