freeze a whole ripe banana,it will thicken it and be sweeter when blended.

If you want to keep it healthy but make it thicker add a few small pieces of silken tofu. It makes it like a thick milkshake and since tofu is tasteless you wont even realize it's in there once you start drinking. I use one packet of Equal and one packet of Splenda. Don't ask me why it taste better with one of each but it actually does. It's like the aftertaste that each has is cancelled out. Only discovered after I ran out and only had a packet of each for a glass of tea. Who knew.

Try to use some yogurt instead of milk to achieve the thickness.

I added a tsp. vanilla and a couple of more ice cubes. Then it was pretty good :)

 Alicia (Nevada) says:
I added some jello vanilla sugar-free pudding instead of the sugar and it made it a lot creamier and much more tasty!

 Vonnie (United States) says:
It was very tasty, and I found it thick enough for my preference, but I used a tablespoon Splenda, I feel it could use something else. Vanilla ice cream sounds good.

how do i get it to not have all the grainy strawberry parts?
i added 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream and a dashh of vanilla extract, this equaled an improved taste . try it! :D

recipe i good ! but i sub. one Activia Vanilla Yogurt in for the 1/2c. of milk and the sugar. a little bit healthier, and helps maintain a stable metabolism as well ! (: i do crushed ice, its just easier. Happy Blending everyone !

Where I work, we add plain, non-fat yogurt to thicken it up and to make it healthier than adding ice cream.

 Robin (Virginia) says:
I use frozen bananas, vanilla soy milk and plain Greek yogurt to make a really healthy version of this recipe. If not sweet enough, add splenda or a splash of O.J.

 Dusty (Kentucky) says:
If you want to make it healthy but make it thicker, we use a "Strawberry Banana Yogurt" 6 oz. and about 4 oz. of milk (and I don't even like yogurt).
