BUTTERMILK KUCHEN 
2 1/4 c. flour
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 lg. egg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/4 c. buttermilk
1 c. raisins

Sift flour, white sugar and baking powder; add Crisco and salt. Work like pie dough. Set aside 1/2 cup in a bowl for the topping. Add the rest of the ingredients to first dough mixture and mix well. Divide into two 8 inch greased pans. Spread topping on and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Freezes well.
