TEXAS SHEET CAKE & ICING | |
2 sticks butter 4 tbsp. cocoa 1 c. water 2 c. sugar 2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tbsp. vanilla extract 2 beaten eggs 1/2 c. sour cream Melt the butter, cocoa and water. Bring to a boil. Add the sugar, flour, salt, baking soda and vanilla extract. Mix the eggs and sour cream. Add all ingredients and mix well. Bake in large 9 x 13 cake pan at 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes. Pour icing over cake at once. Icing: 1 stick butter 4 tbsp. cocoa 6 tbsp. milk 1 box powdered (confectioners') sugar 1 c. nuts 1 tsp. vanilla extract Mix the butter, cocoa and milk. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add the powdered sugar, nuts and vanilla extract. |
