AILEEN'S LEMON TEA BREAD | |
1/2 c. fresh lemon juice 1/3 c. sugar Mix together and set aside. 1 c. white sugar Grated rind of 1 lemon Juice of 1/2 lemon 2 well beaten eggs 1 1/2 c. sifted flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 c. milk Line loaf pan with foil which has been greased and floured. Cream butter, sugar, lemon rind and juice. Add eggs. Add flour, baking powder and milk. Mix to blend all ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Let cool in pan for 5 minutes, then drizzle the lemon and sugar mixture a little at a time over the cake. When loaf has absorbed the juice, remove from pan, but keep in foil. Keeps well in the refrigerator. |
