ORANGE CAKE - ORANGE CREAM
FROSTING
 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. shortening
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. nuts (walnuts)
1 tbsp. orange peel
1 c. orange juice

ORANGE FROSTING:

2 tsp. orange peel
1/3 c. butter
3 c. powdered sugar
3/4 tbsp. orange juice

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Set aside. Mix sugar, butter, shortening, vanilla, eggs, buttermilk orange juice and peel, nuts and raisins. Bake 45-50 minutes in oblong baking dish; 30-35 minutes in 2 round.
