FROSTED COFFEE BARS 
1/4 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 beaten egg
1/2 c. hot coffee
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream together shortening, sugar, egg and hot coffee. Add to this the dry ingredients. Stir until smooth, then add in the raisins and nuts. Bake in a lightly greased 9"x13" pan, at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. When this is baking make the frosting: 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 to 2 tablespoons warm milk, 1 tablespoon butter; mix to make a smooth frosting. Spread on hot bars, then cool and cut into squares.
