CHILI CON CARNE | |
1 lb. ground beef 1 lg. onion, chopped (1 c.) 1 green pepper, chopped (3/4 c.) 1 (1 lb.) can (2 c.) tomatoes, broken up 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 (1 lb) can (2 c.) red kidney beans, drained 1 tsp. salt 1 to 2 tsp. chili powder 1 bay leaf In heavy skillet, cook meat, onion, and green pepper until meat is lightly browned and vegetables are tender. Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, salt, chili powder, and bay leaf. Cover and simmer for 1 hour. Remove bay leaf. Makes 4 servings. |
