CHILI-CON-CARNE - PINE STREET

If you like spicy-hot chili Texas-style get another recipe, this one is for us easterners!

1-1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
2 (16 oz.) cans kidney beans
1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1-2 tsp. salt to taste
2 tsp. oregano
1 lg. onion
1 green bell pepper
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. parsley

Cut onion and pepper in strips and set aside. Cook and drain meat, add all ingredients to large Dutch oven with lid, bring to a boil, then simmer 30-45 minutes. This recipe work well in a crock pot or reheated the next day. Top with Parmesan or shredded Cheddar cheese - yum!
