ENGLISH MUFFIN LOAF 
6 c. unsifted flour
2 pkg. active dry yeast
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 c. milk
1/2 c. water
Cornmeal

Combine 3 cups flour, undissolved yeast, sugar, salt and baking soda. Heat milk and water until very warm (120-130 degrees). Add to dry ingredients and beat well. Stir in remaining 3 cups flour to make stiff batter.

Spoon into two 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch loaf pans that have been greased and sprinkled with cornmeal. Sprinkle tops with cornmeal. Cover; let rise in a warm place for 45 minutes. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove from pans and let cool. Great toasted.
